Safety film from the SOLYX® UltraSafe series is a clear, polyester film applied to the interior glass surface that holds broken glass together after impact. On impact — from a collision, forced entry attempt, weather event, or spontaneous thermal breakage — UltraSafe film keeps broken glass fragments adhered to the film rather than allowing them to scatter. The practical effect is a cracked window rather than a shattered one: occupants are protected from glass projectiles, and the compromised pane remains in place long enough for emergency response or temporary boarding.

For Philadelphia retail storefronts on South Street, Old City, and high-foot-traffic corridors where smash-and-grab theft is an operating reality, UltraSafe film is a deterrence and delay measure. Glass protected by 8 mil UltraSafe film is significantly more resistant to forced entry than unprotected glass — the time required to breach a protected pane is long enough to deter opportunistic theft attempts and allow alarm response. The film does not make glass unbreakable, but it converts a five-second smash-and-grab into an attempt that takes much longer and makes far more noise.
