Anti-Graffiti
Sacrificial surface film that protects Philadelphia glass from acid etching, marker tagging, and surface scratching — removed and replaced after vandalism.
About Anti-Graffiti
Anti-Graffiti film from the SOLYX® Specialized Functions collection is a sacrificial surface protection product: a clear, durable polyester film applied to the exterior glass surface that accepts the damage of acid etching, spray paint, marker tagging, and mechanical scratching rather than allowing that damage to reach the glass itself. When vandalism occurs, the film absorbs the attack. The film is then removed and replaced — a fraction of the cost of glass replacement or professional etching restoration.
For Philadelphia's ground-floor commercial stock — the retail storefronts on South Street, the transit-adjacent glass in SEPTA station areas, the bus shelter glazing throughout the city, and the ground-level institutional glass in schools and government buildings — anti-graffiti film converts an expensive reactive cost (glass replacement or restoration after each vandalism event) into a predictable, manageable maintenance line item (periodic film replacement as needed).
The SOLYX® anti-graffiti film (SX-1950) is tested against common vandalism types including acid etching compounds, spray paint, and mechanical scratching from sharp objects. On bus shelters, subway station glass, and SEPTA-adjacent storefronts where graffiti frequency is high, anti-graffiti film allows property managers to restore vandalized glass to clean condition within hours rather than waiting for glass replacement fabrication and installation.
Anti-graffiti film is applied to the exterior glass surface by Window Film Philadelphia. The film is optically clear and does not materially affect the appearance of the glass in normal viewing conditions. Replacement panels are ordered and installed as needed after vandalism events.

Sacrificial Protection
Anti-graffiti film accepts acid etching, spray paint, and scratching attacks rather than the glass itself — converting expensive reactive glass replacement into low-cost film replacement.
Rapid Recovery
Vandalized glass is restored to clean condition by replacing the film — a process measured in hours rather than the days or weeks required for glass fabrication and replacement.
Transit and High-Frequency Applications
Designed for Philadelphia properties where graffiti frequency is high — SEPTA-adjacent storefronts, bus shelters, school ground-floor glass, and government buildings.
