Window Film Maintenance & Care
Keep your investment performing for years with proper care.
A Little Care. Lasting Performance.
Window film is one of the lowest-maintenance investments you can make for your property — but it does require specific care during and after the curing period. Follow these instructions to protect your installation, maintain your warranty coverage, and get the full performance life out of your film.
How to Care for Your Window Film
The 30-Day Curing Period The 30-Day Curing Period
Window film requires 30 days to fully cure after installation. During this period, it's normal for the film to appear slightly foggy — this is condensation from the installation process and will dissipate within the first week. Do not clean the film during the curing period. Small bubbles may also appear — do not attempt to pop them, as this can compromise the film's structural integrity. If you do pop a bubble, contact us immediately.

Ongoing Cleaning & Care Ongoing Cleaning & Care
After the 30-day curing period, your window film can be cleaned periodically. Film is less porous than glass and will require fewer cleanings than bare glass. Always use a soft, non-abrasive cloth or paper towel with a commercial cleaner or mild detergent and water solution. Never use abrasive tools or harsh chemicals — these can scratch or degrade the film surface. Dry with a soft cloth, paper towel, or squeegee to prevent moisture from getting underneath the film edges.

With proper care, premium window film from brands like 3M, LLumar, and Vista is designed to last 10–20+ years. Avoid using razor blades, abrasive sponges, or concentrated chemical cleaners on filmed glass. A silicone polish can optionally be applied after the curing period for a luminous finish. If you notice any significant peeling, discoloration, or edge lifting before the end of your warranty period, contact us immediately — all our installations are covered by manufacturer and workmanship warranties.
