About N1020 SR PS4 - Safety/Security

N1020 SR PS4 combines the dark, non-reflective look of a 20% neutral film with entry-level 4 mil safety construction. It gives Philadelphia glass a comfort upgrade while helping retain fragments if the pane breaks. That makes the specification both a comfort decision and a glass-retention decision, which is why the tint level and mil thickness need to be considered together.

This is useful for rowhome doors, school offices, storefront sidelites, and street-level commercial glass where glare, privacy, and accidental impact all matter. It keeps the exterior understated, which helps on older facades and mixed-use blocks where mirrored glass would feel out of place. On Philadelphia projects, N1020 SR PS4 should be evaluated by elevation, room use, and how much glass faces sidewalks, transit, neighboring rowhomes, or open sky.

The 4 mil film helps hold broken glass fragments together and can delay forced entry when correctly matched with glass and attachment methods. It is not absolute protection. The 20% VLT also means the room will feel noticeably darker and more private by day. In practice, 20% VLT and 4 mil tells the project team how assertive the neutral result will feel once installed, not just how it looks on a sample card.

Choose N1020 SR PS4 when solar control and basic glass retention should come together in one neutral product. Step up to PS8 for heavier retention needs, or use SCL clear safety film when tint is not wanted. Window Film Philadelphia can compare it against adjacent LLumar options from Eastman Performance Films so the final selection matches the building, not just the product category. Samples should be judged in the actual room whenever daylight, privacy, historic appearance, visibility, or color is close.
