Sacrificial Protection
The film takes the scratches, etching, and marker damage so the underlying glass can stay intact.
Anti Graffiti 4 is a clear 4 mil 3M film that protects the exposed glass surface from routine scratching, abrasion, and acid-etching damage. The film is meant to take the abuse first, preserving the underlying pane when the damage is limited to the sacrificial layer.
Philadelphia uses include SEPTA-adjacent storefronts, Old City restaurant windows, transit shelters, and vestibule glass where repeated marking is more likely than high-impact security threats. It keeps the glass looking clear while adding a replaceable surface layer.
AG-4 is thinner than heavier safety films, so it should be discussed as surface protection, not forced-entry prevention. Damaged film can be removed and replaced more practically than etched glass, but it does not make glass immune to vandalism.
Choose AG-4 for scratch and graffiti exposure where optical clarity matters. Heavier safety or security films are better when the concern is impact resistance or delaying forced entry.

Optically clear construction keeps storefronts, lobbies, and display glass looking open after installation.
Damaged film can be removed and replaced more economically than replacing etched or scratched glass.
